Back to School Information for Windermere Elementary School

Digital instruction will continue for all students through Thursday, August 20th.

Friday, August 21st our LaunchED students will continue with digital learning and we will welcome our Face to Face students on campus.

Our first priority is to keep your child safe while on campus.  The following recommendations will assist us with ensuring this is the case for our students participating in Face to Face instruction:

  • All students will be required to wear face coverings to enter the school building.  Temperature checks will be taken randomly.  We ask our families to assist by screening their child prior to coming on campus for illness or fever.  Keep sick students at home.
  • Students can be dropped off at the car loop starting at 8:15AM.  We will have adults present to help escort students to their classrooms.  We ask parents of first grade and kindergarten students to use the provided labels and label their child with their name, grade, teacher and how they will go home in the afternoon.
  • Students must bring with them on Friday their device and workbooks provided at distribution unless advised by their teacher to keep the item at home.  Students can bring school supplies in throughout the week to avoid a large load on the first day.  Clearly label your child’s items prior to sending them to school.
  • All emergency forms should be returned with students on August 21st if they are participating in Face to Face instruction.  For LaunchED students we ask that forms are returned in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and dropped off in the collection bin with your child’s grade level starting on Monday, August 17th.  Our staff will collect the envelopes every afternoon and secure the paperwork.
  • If your child is riding a school bus make sure you check out the routes on the OCPS website under “Find Your Bus”.  We have also posted our bus routes on our school website under school news on the home page.  Be aware of the bus stop, time of drop off and our “animal” reference for the trip and bus # to assist.  Transportation asks families to be at least five minutes early to stops to pick up their child, but they will be experiencing delays in dismissal the first two weeks of school.
