Since 1889, Windermere Elementary School has proudly served students in grades K-5 among the lakes and citrus groves of West Orange County.  A dedicated and innovative faculty and staff guide Windermere Elementary School.

“Achieving Excellence Together” is the theme of Windermere Elementary.  We pride ourselves on the many opportunities we have for parent and community stakeholder involvement.  The Windermere Elementary PTA was recognized by Orange County PTA as the “Outstanding Elementary School PTA of the Year” on four occasions. In 2006-2014, the Florida Commissioner of Education designated Windermere Elementary as a Five Star School for exemplary community involvement in the areas of business partnerships, family involvement, student community service, School Advisory Council and the Mustang Education Fund.  Our Mustang Education Fund is instrumental in obtaining technology to meet the needs of our 21st-century learners.

Windermere Elementary facilitates a school community in which every child will succeed by providing tools that allow our students to innovate. Windermere Elementary students navigate iPads and laptops to solve real-world problems through a project-based learning approach. We are part of a 1:1 digital initiative with the LaunchED program.  Students in grades K-1 will have access to iPads and students in grades 2-5 will have access to laptops.  We use a blended learning model to enhance instruction through technology.  This program enables our students to create, collaborate and innovate.  Whether they are creating a digital presentation, developing a 3D model of a prosthetic limb, collaborating on written work through technology or solving a S.T.E.A.M challenge our students are preparing for the future. This technology-enriched environment educates, excites, and engages the growing young minds of 34786 zip code.
